epic girl edit 2397 1

When a girl faces adversity early in life without appropriate support, it can make her vulnerable to broken cycles of domestic violence, trafficking, addiction, teenage pregnancy, and incarceration.

These challenges shape her view of herself and can leave her feeling hopeless, stuck, overwhelmed, and like her life doesn’t matter.

Though we can’t always prevent the adversity a girl faces in childhood, we can offer her ongoing support to help her navigate potential negative outcomes as a result of that adversity.

We can help her break the cycles she is stuck in and build a better future.

EPIC Girl equips teen girls whose lives have intersected with the child welfare system, the justice system, or other difficult life circumstances to discover who they really are, recognize new possibilities for themselves, and write a new story for their futures.

Through psychosocial education, we help girls find their inner hero, turn their challenges into strengths, and grow in emotionally healthy ways.

As girls witness a healthier model for life through community and connection, they become cycle breakers who know their worth, live with hope, and embrace their purpose.

Our Values

  • We are an agency of second and third chances. No matter what a girl has been through or what she has done, we believe her story is still being written. Through patient solidarity, we walk with her to write a better story for her future.
  • We believe every girl is one connection away from becoming the hero she is meant to be. Safe, trustworthy relationships are the catalyst that changes everything. Through healthy connections with supportive adults, we model a different way of living than a girl might have witnessed growing up, shifting her perception of what is possible and opening new doors for her life.
  • We believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Prevention is not just stopping bad things from happening. It’s also identifying challenges people are experiencing and intervening to prevent their circumstances from getting worse. We help teen girls break broken cycles before they become entrenched in their lives as adults.
  • We don’t give up on anyone. We relentlessly advocate for every girl in our program, seeing her potential instead of her past. Our motto is: “Once an EPIC Girl, always an EPIC Girl,” and we walk with our girls for life, even into adulthood.
